Hey, peeps!
I wanted to share this for a while now, because I feel like nobody told me things like this when I first started. Some things might sound obvious, but I will note them anyway.
I will start with the essentials, things you should not forget if you are going to the gym.
1 Deodorant - Even if you don't sweat a lot, you will stink, unless you take a shower at the gym, but you still have to put deodorant after, so... you need it either way. BTW, people who say if you don't sweat you don't loose weight are totally wrong. I will post about it later. I use Dove Men Care. Used to always buy Axe, but I grew up.
2 Foot Deodorant - You can use talcum powder, but I personally don't like it. It leaves a mess, makes me sneeze and clumps. I prefer an aerosol spray foot deodorant like the Brut Fresh Foot in the picture.
3 (Not in the picture) Gym Shoes - You need a good base for a good form for a good workout. Any thletic wear is ok as long as you are comfortable and it offers the support you need. I use standard NIKEs. BTW, I am of the opinion that Converse Chuck's are OK for the gym, they were originally designed for basketball, and although they do not offer much shock resistance, for jumping or running, they are perfectly fine for weightlifting. Some say that it's better to excercise barefoot, so that is the closest you can get without breaking the gym's rules.
4 Gym Clothes - There are two ways to go about it: loose or fitted. Loose clothes give you a more free, airy feeling, while fitted clothes, although a bit constricting, can also be fresh and give you free movement. I preffer loose pants and fitted shirt. Love my punisher shirt, very fresh because of the cotton but it is fitted so it doesn't get in the way of the excercise.
5 If there are showers at your gym, and you inted to use them, NEVER FORGET SLIPPERS. Belive me, you really don't want to. In the case you somehow forget them, just shower at home.
6 Shower utensils - Shampoo, soap, scrub or sponge. I use Head and Shoulders' Old Spice shampoo, I like the smell. As for the soap, I think liquid soap is better for the gym, specially if you leave these things in the bag.
7 A towel - The bigger you can fit in the bag, the better, or at least that is my experience.
8 Gym gloves - They are not necessary, unless you dislike getting calluses like me.
9 Tooth brush and tooth paste - It's always good to have these handy in case you need them. I have a pair here, at home, at work and in my backpack.
10 Change of clothes - I change to my Gym clothes, so I use whatever I had before, with the exception of a fresh change of underware and socks. You'll want them, believe me.
I also have a pack of over the counter muscle analgesic pills in case I'm sill swore from the day before, although it is advised against.
Don't forget to hydrate, either drink from a fountain if available, bring a bottle to refill, buy a disposable one or a Gatorade. I used to have Gatorade powder in my car and a water bottle, but I am getting rid of all sugar I can from my diet, so no more Gatorade for me!
I hope this was usefull in any way. Please leave your comments down bellow.
